Job Description
This position is crucial in the startup of manufacturing at Petersburg, VA site. The person is responsible for developing, execution and completion of manufacturing automation projects.
Responsibilities:
- Lead Process Automation for aseptic manufacturing facility.
- Develop risk assessment, design of experiment and develop automation.
- Design and develop control systems, including PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers), SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition), DCS (Distributed Control Systems), and HMI (Human-Machine Interface) systems to manage and monitor aseptic processes.
- Support the validation of automation systems, ensuring that they meet GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) standards and are capable of producing sterile products consistently.
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs for automation systems to minimize downtime and ensure continuous, reliable operation.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science Pharmaceutical Sciences, Engineering, or a similar technical degree.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with a minimum of 6 years related industry experience preferably in Sterile Fill Finish, biologics, and material handling.
- Familiar with Scale up factors and design of process scale up studies and Experience working in FDA regulated environment.
- Demonstrated ability to solve technical problems and implement projects.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and fluency in English.
- Self-directed with effective analytical and problem-solving skills. Must be able to deliver results on multiple complex assignments simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Interact well with other functions (e.g. Manufacturing, Automation, Quality Assurance, R&D) and must be able to take ownership of and follow through on assigned projects with minimal required direction from his/her supervisor.
- Willingness to adapt to changing priorities as project demands change.
